Ok, contracts are at least partly explained. But question… Does the Catgirl get anything out of the arrangement?

I know a lot of people are blaming the mc for being dumb and lead by plot armor but I’d like to argue that we don’t really know how long the mc has actually trained his ability to tame. I’d also like to add that he may not have been confident enough to tame stronger monsters in order to aide himself and may have had the thought of needing to work on his skills, hence the who bit of him believing that his old party were encouraging him to do his best and believed in his potential. Also I’d like to say that him thinking the way he does is very realistic, including the doubts he has with himself. Finally I’d like to say that the mc is on the average intellect on what we should expect from an mc instead of immediately asking for an extremely over the top intellectual MC. Nit picking at the smallest things instead of seeing what he is truly capable too early is a poor judgements in my opinion.

I wished he didn’t find her. Maybe we could’ve seen him work his way up from the lowest point in his life thus far, slowly getting stronger and learning new ways to use his supposed “useless” skill while adapting to his environment. Experiencing the harshness of his world but surviving it and eventually finding the beauty in it as well. Maybe he has trust issues after his past experience with a party so he decides to go solo, but after an unexpected event finds himself at the brink of death but manages to claw himself to safety with his life hanging on by a thread. He decides that if he wants to survive, he can’t do things alone. So after some time looking he finds someone in a similar situation and decides to form a party. They’re both wary at first, none really trusting the other. But as time goes on, the trust starts to build and they declare themselves friends. Unfortunately something happens and they get mad at each other and disbands the party. In his anger, without thinking straight, the mc goes back to where he previously met defeat, now a little stronger. He manages to slay the monster that almost got him last time. He thinks to himself, I don’t need anyone else, and keeps going into the den of monsters. Bit disaster strikes yet again, this time, without escape. He ponders about his life, how bad everything’s gone since he got kicked, he managed to do nothing, just like they said. Oh how he regrets those things he said to his friend, the friend he shared his best moments with since he got kicked. But suddenly, his friend jumps out and blocks the slash of the beast claws. They exchanged glances and both could see the hint of regret in each others eyes. The knew what they had to do. Both stood up and used all their remaining power to slay their foes. Laying flat on the cold and hard ground both breathing heavily. They both say sorry.
.
Ok idk why I wrote this, it just happened. But this is more of the shit I want. I would rather want a story of two bros slowly making their way up in the world through effort, hard work and supporting each other. I want it to be intellectually pleasing with complex characters and motivations.

See the lack of comments here? It’s because a bunch of people dropped this series after this stupid plot armor appeared.
