Summary
A brief description of the manga Monarch Of Death:
“What can I do with a body that only has bones?”
Karnak had become the king of death using the forbidden secrets of “necromancy,” but he began to reminisce the pleasures of the flesh, in sorrow of his bony body…
“I’ll turn back time itself!”
After a long period of research, he succeeded in using the time regression spell and regressed to the past with his right hand, Baros.
“Uh… young master, I think the past has been changed.”
This is the death king’s project to straighten out his twisted(?) life!

The MC in this series acts extremely out of character, despite his past. He literally took over the entire planet, killing everyone except for his subordinates. Yet that ruthless doesn’t seem to translate at all once he’s regressed. You can make the argument that he literally kills without a second thought but, there’s rarely any “serious” portrayals of his true character.
The story isn’t particularly interesting. It’s grueling to read all at once so, read at your discretion.
With that being said, I don’t think this series is any worse than some of the slop that manages to get a 4.0 rating or higher. If you enjoy regression stories with a non-serious approach to them, you’ll probably enjoy this.
The true monarch of death is the shadow monarch
Decent concept, but the slowburn can be unbearable sometimes
Okay, cringe-worthy name aside, it’s not that bad overall. Read it if you have time. It’s better than average. The MC is smart and regressed with a friend, so there is some funny banter. It’s kind of like the dark mage who joined the national service. He was an OP dark mage but now hides as a hero fighting the forces of darkness to secretly power himself back up again. The downside to this manga is that it doesn’t feel amazing; it’s kind of normal.
Alternative names: Death Mage and Knight Duo regress to become foodies

5-The Best.
I love Necromancer Stories, but man… This is not good. It had potential in the beginning, but got boring as hell as I continued reading on. I only got to chapter 13 before dropping this Manhwa.
Here’s my main criticisms of this Manhwa.
1. The Art Style is Clean and Perfect, but it’s Boring, Stiff and Limited. The Artstyle is perfect for the Romance Shoujo Stories, but for this Manhwa that is heavy on the fighting, it makes the fights look robotic and bad to look at. The Artstyle of this Manwha should’ve been something like Dungeon Odyssey or Reincarnation of a Veteran Soldier to give more fluid and dynamic fight scenes.
2. The Story Progression and Direction is boring and kind of forced. The MC is the strongest Necromancer to ever exist in this Fantasy Medieval World, to the point he brought the whole world to ruin and killed everyone, leaving only Undead like himself to walk the earth. So The Main Character and his Subordinate are not Good People. He’s basically H1tl3r or Stal1n. Yet, the story decides to make him “The Good Guy”, which is very forced, predictable, and s c u m m y. Especially since the MC has never repented. He’s still the same person, the problem is that his actions do not align with his past. For example, as a Necromancer, he is mortal enemies with this World’s Catholic Church because they hate Necromancer’s, yet…. MC kills Necromancers. 😑 He even killed one that was basically doing a flash back of MC’s past life, being hunted down by the Order, yet instead of helping this Necromancer on the run, he kills him, sad tbh. I thought and would’ve been better if MC took in all the necromancers and made an world where necromancers wouldn’t be persecuted. Would’ve been more interesting and better of a story.
If anyone has gotten past chapter 13, add more to the discussions if this Manhwa gets better. I’m out. This Korean Manhwa would’ve been better had we not gotten a Hero “Redemption(Not really.)” Regression for the Evil Main Character, and instead, gotten to see MC’s past life, where they were going against the world as necromancers. Would’ve been more exciting. Likeable villains kinda Characters.
Its decent but … but .. you have read this story before
Mass Release! Welp, time to check out if this is good or bad.
